Use of coconut shell activated carbon in boiler circulating water of thermal power plants

Time:2024-11-19

Power plant water often comes from surface water, groundwater, coastal areas and areas lacking fresh water. Seawater is also often used as a replenishment water source. These waters must be treated by high-purity water equipment such as sedimentation, filtration, desalination, and degassing before entering the water circulation system of the power plant.

The water vapor circulation system of thermal power plants has strict water quality requirements for water used as the working medium and cooling medium of the thermal system. For example, high-pressure boiler feed water not only requires low hardness, but also extremely low dissolved oxygen content, solid content and organic matter content. Water that does not meet the water supply standards will make it impossible for power plant equipment to operate safely and economically. Reverse osmosis desalted water treatment systems, multiple beds, mixed bed ion exchange high-purity water systems, ultrapure water treatment equipment, etc. are required to treat the ultra-high pressure boiler feed water of thermal power plants.

Coconut shell activated carbon for boiler circulating water treatment in thermal power plants has the appearance of black amorphous particles. It is made of coconut shell as raw material, carbonized, activated and refined by high-temperature steam, and then crushed, refined and sieved into different sizes. The coconut shell activated carbon for boiler circulating water treatment in thermal power plants produced and supplied by our company has the advantages of high iodine adsorption value, high methylene blue value, large specific surface area, high mechanical strength and long service life. Coconut shell activated carbon is mainly used for power plant boiler raw water purification, power plant circulating water treatment, industrial wastewater purification, drinking water and groundwater purification, tap water residual chlorine removal, etc.

The coconut shell activated carbon used for boiler circulating water treatment in thermal power plants is mostly selected from 2-4mm (5-10 mesh) and 4-8mm (1.8-5 mesh). Please note that when purchasing coconut shell activated carbon, you must choose national standard native activated carbon. The particle size of the selected coconut shell activated carbon can be determined according to the filter material grade used in water treatment. For example, if quartz sand filter material is used, 8-16/4-8mm coconut shell activated carbon can be selected from 2-4/4-8mm. Generally, 2-4mm coconut shell activated carbon is more commonly used.
